Copies of the publication will also be placed in the Library of Congress
and, upon the President leaving office, in the Bush Presidential Library.

"Volunteerism is an essential part of all county governments across the nation,"
stated NACo President and Salt Lake County, Utah, Commissioner D. Michael Stewart.
"Without volunteers, most counties would be unable to deliver many services to their
dtizens. We owe these volunteers many thanks."

"NACo is the only organization representing county governments in the United
Stales. Its goals are to improve county government, act as a liaison with other levels of
government, present the county position on national issues and advance public
understanding of the role of counties.

The Cabarrns County Board of Commissioners will recognize the 13 volunteers
from Cabarrus County who received this honor at a special ceremony on Monday, August
5, 1991, at 6:30 P.M. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Cabarrus County
Governmental Center.
