Box 707 Concord, N.C. 28026-0707 Dear Members of the Commission: Thank you so much for your generous allocation of $15,000.00 to help CVAN provide support and shelter for battered women and their children. Your belief that women and children deserve safety and refuge is very important to all of us at CVAN and to the entire community. With your support, we have begun a new and exciting phase in CVAN's growth - a second house. Thanks to your generosity we will be expanding our services, including more shelter space. Your ongoing support over the years means a great deal to all of us at CVAN. We truly appreciate the confidence that you have continued to show in our work. Your vision that women and children can live lives free from violence is an important statement to the commanity. We thank you for your leadership. i We are especially grateful for the generous increase' that you awarded us this year. These are difficult times for everyone. We know that you have had to ~ake some difficult budget decisions. We really appreciate your generosity and assistance. I Your ongoing support really helps to make safety a reality for women and children in our community. During this past fiscal year, with your generous support, CVAN was able to provide the following assistance. I ~ Sheltered 175 women and children; ~ Received 1,218 crisis calls; ~ Assisted 600 individual women; ~ Provided 3,149 nights of shelter; ~ Provided 12,596 meals; Thank you from all of us at CVAN - the Beard, staff, volunteers and most importantly, battered women and their children - for your generosity and your support.
