September 30, 199l <br /> <br /> Mrs. Carolyn Carpenter, Interim County Manager <br /> Cabarrus County <br /> P 0 Box 707 <br /> Concord, NC 28026-0707 <br /> <br /> Dear Carolyn: <br /> <br /> As you haue been aduised, by the attached letter dated Sep- <br /> tember 18, 1991 and addressed to Bill Simmons, the National Park <br /> Seruice has officially approued the $50,000.00 funding of the <br /> Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission's Greenway Land And Water Conserua- <br /> tion Fund Project. <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners approued a resolu- <br />tion on March 4, 199! committing $25,500.00 towards the matching <br />share of this LoW.C.Fo Grant Application. Moreouer, the Cabarrus <br />County Board of Commissioners appropriated S14,025o00 towards this <br />project, while the Rowan County Board of Commissioners appropriat- <br />ed $6,375.00 and City of Kannapolis Council appropriated <br />$5,100.00, which giues a total deuelopment budget of $75,500°00. <br />The Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission utilized the market ualue <br />($24,500_00) of the donated land from Atlantic American Properties <br />for the matching share of the $100,000.00 L.WoCoFo Grant. <br /> <br /> In order for the Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission to begin <br />construction, Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners must enter <br />into an agreement with the Department of Enuironment, Health, and <br />Natura! Resources, the State Agency that administers the Land and <br />Water Conseruation Fund in North Carolina. That agreement was <br />forwarded to you by Philip K.
