The marked increase in our caseload in <br />~eeent months is making compliance especially ii/ficult. <br /> <br /> As yet, we have not received notification of ~hen ~e viii be monitored <br />~en ~e are monitoreds if ~e score in Category III, and if ~e get our score more than <br />30 days prior to the County's setting its budget for 91-92~ our fiscal sanction ~ould <br />be due in Janusry 1991. (If less than 30 days befores the sanction ~ould be due in <br />January 1993.) Cabarrus Countyts sanction could be approkimately $12~000. <br /> <br />Conclusion <br /> ~a are doing everything humanly poasihle to meet these requirements and to <br />avoid this sanction. ~e are vorking through our association committees for <br />si~plification of policy and paper~ork requirements. The Co~missioners Association <br />and the Social Services Directors Association have been vorking vith State staff on <br />strategies for seeking relief from the existin8 court orders. <br /> <br /> 9e feel it is important the Board of Co~issioners be a~are of this problem. <br />promote efforts tovard simplificetfen of public assistance requirements and toward <br />relief from the court order~ and make preparations for a sanction payment should <br />that be requested, <br /> <br /> <br />
