I explained that we had had problems with leakage building August. for several years. ~en it rains, we have e~erienced leakage th:ough windows and ~alls throuEhout the building. The county m~intenance staff has a:tempted many times i to correct these problems. The building is deter/orating seriously. ~umezous concerns have been expressed I by staff about worki~$ conditions in :he metal building. ~e hsd planned and budseted to replace the ~lndo~s in a portion of the metal buildin$ during the cur:ant year. ~e had also anticipated reworking the gutters and I doing additional caulking. ~ouever, tn assessing during July and August what needs to be done, we concluded ~itb the county maintenance staff that a more comprehensive approach vould be required. Duties your August visit, we agreed i would request a local architect examine the metal building and make a proposal as to how ic might best be repaired. I ! contacted Architect Carlos ~oore. }ir. ~oore has examined the ~etal building and developed the attached proposal under ~hich ha would prepare documents, engage contractors, and aupe:~ise work to repair the metal building. I Mr. Moore is proposing that a brick veneer be added to the entire building; that the roo~ be extended; and, that window-s, gutters, and do~m-spouts ~e replaced. I Deparimen! of So,al Se~ea !
