O. Box 25249, Raleigh, <br /> N.C. 27611) no later than five days prior to the respective <br /> hearing date. All presentations will be limited, to five <br /> minutes and to comments only on the proposed rules. <br /> Written comments on the site selection rules must be <br /> received by the Commission by midnight on January 11, 1990 <br /> to be considered as part of the hearing record. <br /> The second set of rules excludes sites based upon the <br /> factors set out in legislation which requires the Commission <br /> to consider hydrological and geological factors; <br /> environmental and public health factors; natural and <br /> cultural resources; local land uses; transportation factors; <br /> aesthetic factors; availability and reliability of public <br /> utilities; and availability of emergency response personnel <br /> and equipment. <br /> This set of rules excludes the following locations from <br /> consideration for siting hazardous waste facilities: <br /> (1) locations which are on the geological formations <br /> of Castle Hayne; Shady Dolomite; and Murphy <br /> Marble, Andrews Formation and Nottely Quartzite, <br /> undivided; <br /> (2) locations which are within 10 miles from the <br /> centerline of the Blue Ridge Parkway; <br /> (3) locations which are within five miles of the State <br /> boundary; <br /> <br /> <br />
