With this in ~ I want to respectively ask those receiving this memorandum to help us obtain additional fur~s to help pay for the legal assistance we will need possibly through July. It is our estimate now that we are going to ne~d a ~ of $50,000 before the Interbasin Transfer Issue is finalized before the Offico of Administrative Hearings and before the General ~ssembly approves the legislation needed. Please keep in ~ this is our best estimate, as of now, as to t~e need for additional funds. If ~ new contributions oould be obtained from those that have not yet helped and sc~e of those who have already contribute~l will add to their amount, hopefully, we will receive the additional needed funds frc~ those receiving this memorandum. Please consider cal~full¥ our important need of additional fund~. Checks, as pointed out in the past., shou/d be made payable to the Northwest Piedmont fk~ancil of Goverrm~nts and designated to pay for the legal fees of Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge and Rico. ~ proceedings, as to the Cary/Apex project, are to be~3in before the Offico of Administrative }{eari~g$ on Febrtlary 22nd a~d contir, ue for five to six days. ~ne length of these proceedings I feel will indicate to you the importance of these proceedings and also the reason for the need of additional funds.
