Settlor 2-13 Meter Testing. <br /> <br /> If the customer believes that a water meter on his <br /> premises is not registering his water consumption <br /> he may ~equest a test of the meter by the County. Charges <br /> shall be made for this service pursuant to Section 2-5. If it <br /> is determined that the meter is inaccurate, not meeting the <br /> standard accuracy + or -- 2.5M, no ~ee will be assessed. <br /> <br /> Section B-14 Calculation of Bill Where ~quipmen~ Wails. <br /> <br /> a. If the seal of the meter is broken by other than <br /> County representatives or i-n the event that the meter fails to <br /> register the ~ccurate use of water, the customer shall be <br /> charged or credited the amount computed using the following <br /> formula for the period in which the meter failed to register <br /> accurately: <br /> <br /> 1. The customer shall be charged or credited the current <br /> rate Oased upon the average water consumption for the <br /> previous twelve (12) months of occupancy, whereas <br /> applicable, with consideration of the percentage of <br /> accuracy of the meter. <br /> <br />~' ?EO?OS~D b. In the case of a proven leak on the customers( <br />( BO~IC¥ plum~ing* the customer shall me cnargeo ~e amount <br /> using the following lormula: <br /> <br /> 1. The customer shall be charged the lowest current rate <br /> <br /> for the previous t~elve (12) months of occupancy, whereas <br /> applicable. <br /> <br /> 2. Adjustments for leaks are applicable only once per <br /> twelve (12) ~onth period on water accounts. No adjustment <br /> will be made on sewer accounts. <br /> <br /> On February 19, the Board of Commissioners of the Water and Sewer <br /> Dlst~lc~ of Cabarrus County approved a water bill adjustment request for <br /> Mr. Glen Brooks in accordance wifh the above adjustment formula that is <br /> proposed in the revised Water and Sewer Policy chr~ently under review. <br /> T~e ~ater and Sewer District Board by consensus agreed that the formula <br /> is to be retroactive for any claims currently pendin8 and is to be used <br /> informally as policy with any adjustments reported at the next meeting of <br /> the Board. In order to be consistent with the Water and Sewer District, <br /> the Board of Commissioners for Cabarrua County would need to approve the <br /> use of the water adjustment formula for County Utility customers. <br /> <br /> <br />
