September 25, <br /> For a Period of l$O Doy~ tO Expire bn March 25, 19~0; <br /> Statutory Authority G.S. 130~.7(a)(24); IgOB-lI(a); <br /> IgOB-II(cl); I$OB-2$(a); I$OB-IJ; <br /> ARRC Objection Lodged October 19, <br /> <br /> .0~0~ STATEWIDE SCREENING FOR SUITABLE SITES <br />(a) The Comm~sslon shall inslllute a statewlde screening process to identiiy suitable sites in accord- <br />ance with G.S. 130B-I l(b) and the procedures cont,xined in Ihis Rule. <br /> (b) The identification shall be ~ade based on teclmieal siting criteria set out in G.S. 130B-I 1 and 4 <br /> NCAC 18.0200, including meteorological factors, and shall use readily available date. <br />(c) The statewide screening process to be used by the Commission is a search of the entire state which <br />will be accomplished by successively eliminating unsuitable areas. The first screening process will ex- <br />elude general areas under the criteria set out at 4 NCAC 18.0202. The Commission will develop other <br />sets of site selection criteria wlfich will be done through the rulemaking procedures set out at G.S. 150B. <br />Poi/owing each set of criteria, another screening process will be initiated to eliminate more unsuitable <br /> <br />(d) The second phase ofthe statcwide screening proces's wil/exclude general areas under the criteria <br />set out at 4NCAC 18.0203(1) through (6). Thethird phase of the statewide scseening process will <br />exclude general areas under the cdtcria set out at 4 NCAC 18.0203 (7) through (14).
