Pleasant Law Enforcement Services This is to inform you that, as per Chairman Lentzs, instructions, I have worked With the Mayor of Mt. Pleasant and his town board aha have reached the followin§ compromise which I can support in the form of a manpower request to you. The compromise is to request that Cabarrus County authorize the hiring of an additional officer at County expense to be ass[gnod to the town of Mt. Pleasant. This will ~rovide for two officers paid for by the town and two paid for by the County. The workin§ arrangement for all four officers will be that they will while on duty remain p~imarily Within tho corporate limits of the town approximately 80% of their time. The remaining 20% of their time will be spent patroling within close proximity to the corporate limits of the town. In addition to normal patrol time the officers (county paid and city paid) will be available for dispatch to any call in the patrol zone surrounding ~ft. Pleasant in the event that zone car · is not available for calls. The Ht Pleasamt cars will also be available for dispatch to bamk up the Eastern Cabar~us County zone ear in the event thei~ is a need for a.backup car. I support this request and feel that it will increase our manpower availability in the central an~ northeastern part of Cabarrus County. This does not by any means lessen the meeQ for the additiona~ manpower requests that I have already made through the County Manager to you.
