Pleasant - Water Line Extension - HWY. 49 <br /> DATE: May 15, 1990 <br /> <br /> On Thursday, May 10, 1990 at 2:00 PM, we received 5 bids <br /> for the construction of the water line mentioned. This project <br /> consists of 435' of 6" water line in North Drive to be paid for <br /> by Mt. Pleasant and 1240' of 12" water line along Hwy. 49 from <br /> North Drive east to a mobile home park. County forces will make <br /> all service connections. <br /> <br /> The low bidder was Concord Builders, Inc. of Concord. N. C. <br /> with a bid of $38,495.00. The Engineer's estimate was $44,000. <br /> I am very pleased with the low bid. Shinn Contr. 58,009.50 <br /> <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br /> I have discussed these bids with Henry Wa]droup and we <br /> recommend the award be made on May 2]., 1990 to Concord Builders, <br /> Inc. They are aware of our desire to proceed with the project <br /> and should be able' to move ahead on the execution of the bid <br /> documents as soon as the Commissioners award the Contract. <br /> <br /> CONSTRUCTION.COST DIVISION <br /> <br /> The mobile home park owner will contribute S13,000.00 to <br /> the County toward the cost of the construction. Mt. Pleasant <br /> will pay $6,715.00'of the cosf and the remaining construction <br /> cost of $18,780.00 will be paid by the County. Mt. Pleasant and <br /> Cabarrus County proportions-are estimafes and will be finalized <br /> upon completion of construction when it is possible to determine <br /> the final quantities. <br /> 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
