~TATfiMENT OF THE PROBLEM: ~ny high risk youth come to the attention of the <br /> courts and sbhdols. Most have need of psychological assessment, individual <br /> and/or group counseling, or family counseling. Many have significant pre- <br /> deliquent, substance abuse, or school problems. Without intervention services <br /> with the youth and their families (when possible), problems will increase. <br /> <br /> PROGRAM GOAL: (PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM) <br /> <br /> The purpose of the program is to provide intervention and trea~ment for high <br /> risk in the most effective method and location possible. Decreasing client <br /> and family resistance to treatment by'having the service paid for has proven <br /> to be an effective means of getting the youth into treatment. Two hundred (200) <br /> hours of in s~hool services will be provided. <br /> <br /> TARGET POPULATION: <br /> <br /> Youth between 7.and 17 referred by the courts and schools who exhibit deliquent, <br /> predeliquent or significant substance abuse problems. <br /> <br /> In school groups of youth will be dealt with in conjunction with school personnel. <br /> These students will have had substance abuse treatment and at risk or relapse <br /> and/or at significant risk. <br /> <br /> [tEASURABLE 0BJ£CTJVE(S): <br /> A total of 45 - 60 children will be served through the court referred and in <br /> school intervention process. <br /> <br />INFORMATION <br /> IJAINTAINED <br /> FOR EFFECTIVENESS ~iEASUREMENT: <br /> <br /> The program is currently underway in the initial stages. Data collection on <br /> involvement and frequency as well as treatment outcomes is collected. On students <br /> who become clients of the Cabarrus Center, treatment records will be generated <br /> tha~ are in compliance with Division of b~/MR/SAS and CBA standards. <br /> <br /> 25c <br /> <br /> <br />
