A RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO FUNDING FOR <br /> VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION FROM THE <br /> NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus Workshop, Inc. does not receive funding through the North <br /> Carolina Department of Human Resources - Division of Vocational <br /> Rehabilitation to provide Vocational Evaluation, Vocational Adjnstment, or <br /> Job Placement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this lack of funding results in an incomplete and fragmented continuum of <br /> vocational services to adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities <br /> in Cabarrus County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this lack of funding results iu services being available only through out- <br /> of-coun,{y service providers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, provision of these services out-of-county involves excessive travel time and <br /> costs, is inconvenient for program participants and families, and may result <br /> in poor monitoring of participants following job placement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, families prefer that services be made available in their local community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the lack of Division of Vocational Rehabilitation funding results in an <br /> incomplete funding stream for Cabarms Workshop, Inc. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarms County Board of <br />Commissioners requests that the North Carolina Department of Human Resources- <br />Division of Vocational Rehabilitation immediately make available to Cabarms Workshop, <br />Inc. the funds necessary to operate Vocational Evaluation, Vocational Adjustment, and <br />Job Placement Services commensurate with other counties of similar population. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman is duly authorized to fonvard <br />a copy of this Resolution to each member of Cabarms County's delegation to the North <br />Carolina General Assembly. <br /> <br /> Adopted this the 18th day of June, 1990. <br /> <br /> James W.
