Pilkington <br />SUBJECT: Recap of June 27 Meeting <br /> <br />During our meeting we discussed several issues of importance to each of <br />you. On August 1, 1990, the tipping fee at the Cabarrus County Sanitary <br />Landfill will increase from $2.00 to $4.60 per cubic yard. As a result of <br />the tipping fee increase haulers using the Cabarrus County Sanitary Land- <br />fill will bm permitted to increase their resideutial fees by $1.52 per <br />month, effective August 1, 1990. The additional revenue derived from this <br />increase will be used to provide a curbside recycling program to 10,000 <br />homes in Cabarrus County this year. In addition, a portion of these <br />revenues will be used to defray the cost of a liner which will be required <br />to be installed at our landfill in the near future. <br /> <br />It was also agreed that each hauler would complete an evaluation of annual <br />operating costs and submit these figures to the health director by July 10, <br />1990. These figures will be used to support a request by the haulers to <br />the residential fees from $8.2~ to $10.59 per month, an increase of $2.31 <br />($1.52 per month for tipping fee increase and $0.79 for annual operating <br />expense increases). The Compensation Adjustment Increase is based on a <br />CP1 increase of 9.9% for tbs past two years multiplied by the base price <br />of $8.00 per household. Please understand that haulers using the Cabarrus <br />County Sanitary Landfill would be entitled to $10.59 per month while <br />haulers not using the county's landfill would be entitled to an increase <br />of $9.07 per month per household. This request will be taken to the Board <br />of Couuty Coauaissionurs on July 23, 1990, if the necessary supporting <br />iuformation is received front the haulers. <br /> <br />Thank you for the excellent cooperation we have received from you and for <br />tbs quality services you deliver to our citizens. <br /> <br />ft <br /> <br />cc John V.
