CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> <br /> CONTRACT <br /> <br /> This contract made by and between Cabarrus County, hereinafter <br /> referred to as the "County", by and through its Department of Social <br /> Services, and "Meals on %~heels, Inc.", hereinafter referred to-aa "Meals <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH <br /> <br /> W~.KEAS, Meals on ~eels 'provides meals to homebound individuals <br />within the community and is properly incorporated in the State of North <br />Carolina for this purpose; and <br /> <br /> W~S, Heals on W~eels wishes to secure the financial support of <br />the County for a portion of the costs incurred in providing these <br />services; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, the County, in the interest of the welfare of its citizens, <br />desires to provide financial support for a portion of the costs incurred <br />by Meals on ~eels in its provision of these services; and <br /> <br /> ~qiEREAS, The County has appropriated the sum of $25,650 for this <br />purpose for the period July 1, 1990 through June 30, 1991. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFOKE, tn consideration of the premises, the County and <br />Heals on Wheels do mutually agree to the following terms and conditions: <br /> <br /> This contract shall begin July 1, 1990 and shall exist and <br /> continue thrnu§h June 30, 1991. <br /> <br /> 2. Meals on ~eels shall provide its services to individuals who <br /> qualify for these services in relation to Meals on ~eels <br /> established policies in a manner specified by these policies. <br /> These policies are understood to provide for compliance with <br /> Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of ~964 and Section <br /> 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as appropriate, in <br /> addition to any other local ordinances, state laws, and federal <br /> regulations which may he applicable to Meals on ~heels and its <br /> <br /> 3. The County shall allocate and pay to Meals on hq%eels twelve <br /> (12) monthly payments of $9137.50 each for a total of <br /> $25,650.00 w~th each payment to be made on or about the last <br /> day of each month commencing in July, 1990. <br /> <br /> 4. Meals on ~eels will. undergo an audit of its operations <br /> conducted by a Cert:ified Public Accountant and will submit a <br /> copy of the report of this audit to the Department of Social <br /> Services within ninety 90 days of the conclusion of Heals on <br /> Wheels' established fiscal year. <br /> <br /> <br />
