CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> DEPART~Eh~f OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> <br /> CONTRACT <br /> <br /> This contract made by and between Cabarrus County, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "County", by and through its Department of Social <br /> Services, and Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network, Inc., hereinafter <br /> referred to as 'CVAN'. <br /> <br /> ~iTNESSETH <br /> <br /> I~IEREAS~ CVAN provides s~helter and other supportive services to <br />vict/ms of domestic violence and is properly incorporated in the State <br />of North Carolina for this purpose; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, CVAN wishes to secure the financial support of the County <br />for a portion of the costs incurred in providing these services; and <br /> <br />~HEREAS~ the County, in the interest of the welfare of its <br />citizens, desires to provide financial support for a portion of the <br />costs incurred by CVAN in its provision of these servicesl and <br /> <br />%~IEREAS, THE County has appropriated the sum of $10,000.00 for <br />this purpose for the period July 1, 1990 through June 30, 1991. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEKEFORE, in consideration of the premises, the County and <br />CVAN do mutually agree to the following terms and conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. This contract shall begin July 1, 1990 and shall exist and <br /> continue through June 30, 1991. <br /> <br /> 2. CVAN shall provide its services to individuals who qualify for <br /> these services in relation to CVAII~s established policies in a <br /> manner specified by these policies. These policies are <br /> understood to provide for compliance with Titles VI and VII of <br /> the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Section 504 of the <br /> Rehabilitation Act of 1973~ as appropriate, in addition to any <br /> other local ordinance, state laws, and federal regulations <br /> which may be applicable to CVAN and its services. <br /> <br /> 3. The County shall allocate and pay to CVAN twelve (12) monthly <br /> payments of $833.33 each for a total of $I0,000.00 with each <br /> payment to be made on or about the last day 'of each month <br /> commencing July 1990. <br /> <br /> 4. CVAN will undergo an audit of its operations conducted by a <br /> Certified Public Accountant and will submit a copy of the <br /> report of this audit to the Department of Social Services <br /> vithfn ninety (90) days of the conclusion of CVA~t s <br /> established fiscal year. <br /> <br /> <br />
