NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ~ONTRACT <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into effective the 1st day of July, 1990, by <br /> and between CABARRUS COUNTY, a body politic and political subdiv/sion of the State <br /> of North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as the "COUNTY", and the PIEDMONT <br /> FAR1VIERS MARKET, INC., a non-profit corporation of Cabarms County, North <br /> Carolina, hereinafter referred to as th~ '~FARMERS MARKET'; <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: lhat -- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, FARMERS MARKET is a not-for-profit corporation established xvith <br />the assistance of the Agricultural Extension Service to provide a facility at which farmers <br />located in the area of Cabarms County, North Carolina, may sell and the public may <br />purchase fresh fruits and vegetables directly from the producers; and <br /> <br /> WH REAS, FARMERS MARKET desires to obtain the f'mancial support of <br />COUNTY for a portion of its operating expenses and in the interests and welfare of its <br />citizens, COUNTY desires to prey/de financial support for a portion of the expenses <br />incurred by FARMERS MARKET; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY is authorized to make contributions to FARMERS <br />MARKET under the provisions of G. S. 153A-149(c)(2), and Article 52 of Chapter 106 <br />of lhe General Statutes of Noxth Carolina (NCGS 106-580 through 600); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY has appropriated the sum of Five Thousand Dollars <br />($5,000.00) for this purpose for the period July 1, 1990dune 30, 1991. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, COUNTY and FARMERS <br />MARKET do mutually agree to the following terms and conditions: <br /> <br /> <br />
