Section 10 Amend~nents <br /> 10.1 Intent. <br /> <br /> Just aa a community is an evolving, changing entity, so <br />must be the land use classification syslem ordering it. <br />Beginning , the Cabarrus County Planning and <br />Zoning Depot tlnent will implement a county-Wide reassessmenl <br />ot land use and its existing zoning categories. Such <br />periodic reassessments, occurring at 5-year intervals, will <br />be an ef for t to both direct county-wide growth and correct <br />existing land use problems. Whether or nol land is <br />reclasei flea into a different land use category will be tba <br />end result of a public dialogue meshing citizen preference <br />with solid community planning principles. <br /> <br /> In addition to the methodical cotinty-wide assessment <br />described above, the county's land use classification <br />system, both text and map, may continue to be amended on a <br />case by case basis. Accordingly, it is the intent of this <br />section to carefully set forth both the process and its <br />requirements. <br /> <br />t0.2 Definitions. <br /> <br /> The following definitions are set for th to promote <br />clarity. <br /> <br /> ( ) Text. Refers to those written rules, <br /> requirements, etc., known commonly as <br /> The Cabarru$ County Zoninq Ordinance. <br /> <br /> ( ) Atlas. Refers to the official zoning maps <br /> bearing the zoning district categories parcel <br /> by parcel throughout the County. Maintained in <br /> the office of the Zoning Administrator, Planning <br /> and Zoning Department, Cabarrus County <br /> Governmental Center. <br /> <br /> (ii ) General Zoninq District. Any of the basic zoning <br /> districts created by Section 2 of this Ordinance. <br /> <br /> (iv) Special Use Zoninq District ("SU" District). A <br /> floating zoning district created only at the <br /> request of a property owner, built upon one of the <br /> general districts described above, and developed <br /> as set forth in an approved development plan. <br /> <br /> (v) Development Plan.
