The time <br /> frame for the processing of the application is set forth in <br /> Section ID, II be~ow. <br /> <br /> 10.8 OPTION II - Rezoninq to the Special Use Zon~nq <br /> District. <br /> <br /> A petitioner may ask that his/her pro~erty be ~ezoned <br />to any of several special use zoning districls built upon <br />those existing general zoning districts set forth by this <br />Ordinance~ To initiate the process, tl~e petitioner must <br />file Cabarrus County Planning Department form number c-~-~O(~, <br />Application for Rezoning to a Special Use Zoning District. <br />The time frame for the processing of the application with <br />the appropriate fee and development plan is set forth in <br />Paragraph lO.11 below. <br /> <br /> t0.9 Uai.q thc Special Use Rezoninq District Option. <br /> <br /> Because of the refinement of this option, the Planning <br />and Zoning Staff strongly encourage its use. Special use <br />district rezoning affords a degree of certainty in land use <br />decisions not possible when rezoning to a general category <br />allowing many different uses. <br /> <br />10.10 Cleat inq the Special Use District. <br /> <br /> 1. Choosinq the special use district. Keeping the <br />proposed actual use in mind, the Petitioner may choose the <br />desired district from any of the general zoning districts <br />set forth within this Ordinance. Upon selection, the <br />requested zoning district will be known by the name of the <br />general zoning district with the suffix "SU" added to <br />delineate its special use status. For example, Ot fica and <br />last i tut ~onal may be selected and the suffix "SU" added, <br />to create "Oft ice and Inst itulionaI-SU." <br /> <br /> 2. Land use within the special use district. The <br />Petitioner will describe the exact land use proposed tot the <br />"SU" District. Such use(s) may be selected t rom any et thc <br />uses, whether permitted by right or conditional, <br />allowed for the general zoning district upon which the "$U" <br />district is based. <br /> <br />3. Development Plan. Along with the application for <br />special usu district status, the Petitioner is requested to <br />furnish a development plan. At a minimum the development <br />plan will address: <br /> <br /> a) General site character isfl__c[ - ownership, <br /> topography, soils, drainage, vegetation and <br /> other physical characteristics. <br /> / <br /> 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
