Spreading, compaction and daily cover are
commendable. A review of inspections of the past few years shows a
strong willingness to comply with the N.C. Solid Waste Management
Rules.

I did, however, site one violation that needs attention as soon as
possible. This violation concerns the stabilizing of soil through
temporary seeding of those areas that have been disturbed. There is
the need to reduce the area of exposed soil to a minimum in order to
prevent the possibility of erosion and off-site siltation. I have
recommended to Mr. Gautney that extensive seeding of these areas be
accomplished this fall in order ~o correct this violation. I also
believe that a good operational plan will eliminate the need for
extensive seeding in the months that follow.

Please feel free to call me at {704) 788-4449 concerning this matter.
~ look forward in offering any assistance that you may need at any
time.

S~ncerely,

~.
