This information will be used in
the design of the area.

To save mobilization and other costs, ~ are recommending that the
geotechnical work associated with the methane gas trench and the demolition
area be completed at'the same time. Our lump sum fee to complete both
projects is $9,500. This includes all drilling costs, and field and report
writing time~ (3)M geologist. In addition, because the old landfill is
being examined by the State separately for past disposal practices, our
cost includes the use of certain health and safety equipment and procedures
in the field; above what is used for similar projects at a typical sanitazy
landfill site. This cost does not include design and permitting of the
demolition area nor design, bidding, and construction se~ices for the
methane venting trench. A separate amendment for these serwiceswill be
prepared and su~x~itted once the results from the additional geotechnical
work under this amendment can be evaluated.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to call me.
I have-enclosed three copies of the amendment. Please provide an
authorizing signature in the space below m3d return two authorized copies
to me. We are ready to proceed immediately upon authorization.

Camp Dresser & McKee appreciates this opportunity to continue to assist
cabarrus County ~rlth your solid waste management program.

Very truly yours,

CAMP DRESSER & McKEE
s~e~ ~..~.~4~..~z~.~_, For Cabarrus County
F.
