WORK PROGRAM <br /> FOR USE OF <br /> STATE APPROPRIATION TO LROs <br /> TO ASSIST LOCAL GOVERNNENTB <br /> <br /> I. ~SSIST LOCAL GOVERITMENTS WITH COMMUNITY DEVELOPNENT BLOCK <br /> GRANT FUNDS <br /> <br /> The staff will prepare CDBG applications for the Community <br /> Revitalization or Economic Development category this year for <br /> member governments. The applications would be prepared at no <br /> cost to member governments. <br /> <br /> II. ASSIST LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN INITIATING STRATEGIC PL~NNIN~ <br /> PROGRAMS <br /> <br /> State funds would be used to assist communities utilizing <br /> Centralina~s assistance for strategic planning. <br /> <br /> III. CONTINUE A PART-TIMM POSITION TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PERSONN~-?. <br /> TO ASSIST WITH TEE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION 504 PROGRa~ <br /> <br /> Preparation of loan packages, organize existing loans, and <br /> interview loan applicants. <br /> <br /> IV. REGIONAL DATA BOOK <br /> <br /> The Centralina COG Region F Data Book is being completely <br /> restructed in order to enhance its relevance to a wide range <br /> of users. The project began early Spring of 1988, and the <br /> revision is now completed. During Summer/Fall of 1990 <br /> emphasis will be on public information distribution and <br /> marketing of the Data Book. <br /> <br /> The Regional Data Book was originally published in 1983, but <br /> its contents were exclusively in tabulated format, and many <br /> data elements reflected only single-year statistics, thereby <br /> making it impossible to examine historical trends. The <br /> revision provides much more historical data, as well as <br /> projected data where available. Additionally, the revision <br /> relies much more heavily on computer graphics to display the <br /> trends suggested by the tabulated data. <br /> <br />V. CONTINGENCY AND OTHER HISCELL~EOUB COMMUNITY ~ND ECONOMI~ <br /> ACTIVITIES <br /> <br /> Interest in other community and economic activities have been <br /> expressed from member jurisdictions.
