Cabarrus County
~ OCT 1 ~ 1990
Sheriff s DepartmentI

Mr, Michael Ruffin
County Hana§er
Cabarrus County

Hr. Ruffin:

This letter is to confirm our conversation regarding the
addition of an officer and promotion to Sergeant of one of
the officers assigned to the Cabarrus Memorial Hospital
Division of the Sheriffs Department.

Effective October 19, 199D one of the senior officers
there will assume the responsibilities of Sergeant and as
soon as we are in a position to add the additional officer
we will select a trained officer for assi§nment to that
Di¥ision.

As we discussed, this move will have little impact on the
current Sheriffs Department budget due to the fact that
position ~39 was vacant from last year but was funded this
year. The promotion of the officer assigned there will
result in only a 5Z increase in his pay. In reality~ [f you
consider that the hospital will be reimbursing the County
for a higher paid officer than the one we replace him with,
there should be some actual reduction in salary expenditure.

If there are any problems with this arrangement please let
Sincerely,

Robert M.
