Staff AnalYsis - Petition 90-19 <br /> <br />The petitioners are requesting a zone change from R-30 to ARR~SU to allow the <br />construction of an addition to the emtst~ng home on the property in which to house <br />a number of dogs. The analysis of this request should include determining whether <br />the proposed use is compatible With the surrounding ~rea and what conditions would <br />make it more compatible. <br /> <br />Hilton Lake Road and the parallel old salisbury/Concord Road are both developed <br />with low density residential and scattered comnlerciel, on Hilton Lake Road <br />specifically there ~e at least f0ur businesses including a reshaurant. The p~oposed <br />use, in combination with the existing home on more than four acres, is compatible <br />with the existing development. <br /> <br />Conditions that could lessen the impact of a kennel on the surrounding area would <br />need to address location of the addiUon, waste disposal and noise. <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning st~ff recommends that +d~is petition be approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
