Characteristics o! Transportation Task Force: <br /> <br /> 1. Regional Designalion: Task Force will have representatives from an <br /> eight county region: Mecklenburg, Iredell, Cabarrus, Lincoln, Union, <br /> Gas[on, Yo~k, and Lancaster <br /> <br /> 2. County Represenlation on Task Force: Each county will have Ihree <br /> representatives with at least two of Ihe three being an elected oflicial. <br /> The Ihree representalives will be: <br /> <br /> o A member of Ihe coanly's governing board <br /> o A member of Iha CiIy Council of one of Ihe cilies in the county.. The <br /> re!event City Council will recommend a person, who will be named <br /> to Ihe Task Force by Iha county governing body. <br /> 0 Unspecified. <br /> <br /> 3. Funding of Task Force: Each ol' the eight counties will be requested <br /> appropriate $1,000 for the purpose of I'unding the activities of <br /> Task Force and [he Urban Insli[ute, which will provide slaff services <br /> Ihe Task Force. Once Ihe funding decision is made, each courtly will <br /> sign a conlract wilh UNC Charlotte and [he funds will be kept in an <br /> account at the University. These funds will be available for lire Urban <br /> Institulo to provide [he necessary staffing for tho Task Force. At [he <br /> conclusion of [he contracl period, [he Urban Institute will provide a <br /> report accounting for all funds [o each coalilion member courtly. <br /> <br /> 4. Time Frame for Work Program: Six monlhs slarting on February 1, <br /> 1989 and ending on July 31, 1989. <br /> <br /> 5. Decision Time Frame: The next mooring of ihe Carolinas Coalilion et <br /> Counlies is scheduled for January tg, 1989.
