A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE MONTH OF MAY <br /> AS DUCKLING MONTH IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. a North Carolina corporation, is <br /> the only duckling company in the south or southeast; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. sells duckling in all fifty states <br /> and exports to over fifteen foreign countries; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. has an economic impact on farming <br /> in six counties in North Carolina by contracting with <br /> fifty farmers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. employs some four hundred North <br /> Carolinians; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. owns and operates in Cabarrus <br /> County the world's largest duckling hatchery; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Concord Farms, Inc. produces approximately twenty-seven <br /> percent of all duckling in the United States; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Concord Farms National Duckling Cooking Contest <br /> will be featured at the Share Cabarrus Festival in May. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, J~mes W. Lentz, Chairman of the Cabarrus <br />County Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim the month of <br />May 1989 as DUCKLING MONTH IN CABARRUS COUNTY, and call upon all <br />citizens to loin in saluting Concord Farms, Inc. and to <br />participate in all activities planned in celebration of the <br />event. <br /> <br /> This the 17th day of April, 1989. <br /> <br /> James W.
