Summarize your organization's planning <br /> process, how yo~ organization works Id develop the arts in your counl~ how <br /> your organlzaiion evaluates ils programs and:or so.ices, and your o~ganizatJoffs <br /> policies and procedures Mr ensuring fiscal contel and accoun~abilit~ <br /> The Caharrua County Parka and Recreation Department is dedicated to meeting the <br />various leisure needs of the citizens of Cabarrus County. The department strives to meet <br />these needs in two major areas: facilities and programs. Facilities are developed both <br />by the county and with other community organizations through a matching grants program. <br />Programs are developed to meet the needs that are not being served by other local agencies, <br />public or private. Needs are identified through contact with various individuals and <br />groups in the community, surveys, and recent trends within the leisure service field <br />itself. The department has attempted to develop a well-balanced arts program for citizens <br />of all ages with both visual and performing arts. The staff of ~he department, along with <br />various part-time staff, volunteers, and participants, meet to evaluate and upgrade these <br />services. All Caharrus County agencies are governed by the local government fi&cal control <br /> <br />5. Special events offered by the Cabarrue County Parks and <br /> Recreation Department are open to all citizens of Cabarrus County. Efforte are made via <br /> fliers, postern, and newspaper articles to involve and expose as many persons as possible. <br /> Most of these programs are offered at no charge, or at lease offer some facets which are <br /> free to the public. Plans are being made to send a special invitation to nursing homes <br /> a,d group homes, The facility to he used is accessible for wheelchairs. Since there will <br /> be no admission charged, anyone could attend without concern about the cost. <br /> <br /> In an effort to highlight the facilities at Frank Liske Park as well as to provide a <br /> regular opportunity to expose Cabarrus County Citizens to a variety of activities, <br /> including performing and visnal arta~ the Cabarruc County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> has planned a series of events called Sundae-in-the-Park. Activities planned will include <br /> bringing artists to perform at the park amphitheatre. Efforts will bo made to expose <br /> participants to different types of entertainment during the series of events. <br /> <br /> <br />
