FIRE PROTECTION RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> Wheress G.S. 153A-233 authorizes a county to maintain <br />fire department and provide assistance to ieeorporated volunteer <br />fire departments, and G.S. 153A-234 authorizes a county to employ <br />a fire marshall whereas the Beard of County Commissioners cf <br />Cabarrus County has determined that it is in the best interest <br />and necessary for the protestlon of the citizens of Cabarrus . <br />County and their property (a) to encourage and f inanoial ly aid in <br /> <br />the county In order that these departments can more adequately <br />cod efficiently protect tile, publ io but Idiugs, homes and other <br />property In Cabarrus County, (b) to establish a fire protection <br />organization to work with and supplement the Csbarrus County <br />Emergency Management organization, (c) to employ a fire marshal <br />to coordinate tire fighting and fire prevention activities under <br /> <br />for fire protection is required between Cab&rrus County and the <br />fire departments. <br /> <br /> Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Bosrd of County <br />Commissioners of Cab~rrus County~ North C~rollna: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Cabarrus County will offer f Inanoial <br />assistance for the maintenance and operation of any fire doper t- <br />ment of a fire district er municipal I fyi qualifying for financial <br />assistance under the terms of this resclution~ in the amount of <br />$25g.00 monthly~ payable on or before the tenth day of each <br />month, and by revel~ue ~ol leered from the fire district taxi <br />provided A tax district has been established In accordance with <br />General Statute Chapter 69, Article 3A for the area served. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. A fire department desiring financial <br />· ssistance under this resolution sh~ll file a budget with the <br />fire marshal of Cabarrus County by the first day of April each <br />year for the following fiscal year. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3. The county fire marshal shall m~ke regular <br />inspect ions of each fire department receiving p~yments under this <br />resolution. At least one inspeetio~ shall be made annually but <br />the fire marshal may make other such inspections ~s de~med <br /> <br />marshal shall determine whether the department is continuing to <br />meet the minimum standards as herein speoi lied, and the findings <br /> <br /> SECTION q. If during any inspection the fire marshal <br />determines that the fire department Is not meet.lng the minimum <br />standards as set forth in this resolulion, a ~ot lee of deficiency <br />must be given In wri tins by the fire msrshal to the fire chief <br />and at leasl two officers of the corporation of the fire depart- <br />ment. This notice shall spool fy the period of time within which <br />the deficiencies musl be corrected, provided that the length of <br /> <br /> <br />
