~ c.A,R,..^,~:r~.cEs MURDOCK CENTRALINA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
~.. VICE. CHAIRMAN: RALPH AUSTIN
~ SECR~ARY:DAVID WARD POST OFFICE BOX 35008 ONE CHARLO~ETOWN CENTER

t ~SUHER:ROBERTALLISON CHARLO~E, N,C. 28235 1300 B~ER ST. 704/372-2416

Mr. Michael M, Ruffin, Manager
Cabarrus County
P.O. Box 707
Concord, NC 28026
Dear Mike:
This proposal is in response to your re~est for a salary plan
su~ey and update to accompany the position classification revision
which Centrelina is currently perfo~ing. We estimate the cost of
this project to be $2,500 and the use of one of your 40 free-hour
blocks.
In the event that the project total exceeds that estimated, the
County will be notified of the overage and at that point a
dete~ination may be made whether to oomplete the tasks and pay the
overage or to forego the remainder of the project. In the event
that the project total cost is less than estimated, the County will
be charged only for the actual work done.
Our proposed approach would include the establishment of benchmark
positions and their relationship with others within the County.
Also, we would establish a group of comparable Counties to use as
our su~ey sample area. We would then solicit salary info~ation
related to comparable positions in the sample area. Our pay
recommendations would be based ()n %he results of the su~ey.
Input and guidance from your personnel office would be appreciatcd
so that we may reach a set of recommendations which will reflect
the market and will include any special circumstances surrounding
unique positions. We will b'e prepared to begin this project with
the new fiscal year and strive to complete it as soon as possible.

CABARRUSC0UN~ ~nc0r~ harrisburg ka~a~l[s m0untpleasant GASTONCOU~ belmont ~emerci~ chenille cramed0n da;fas
gas(0n[a hfghsh0a~s ;0~;t mcaden~{e m0u~ho~¥ ~a~;o s~er~u,tai~ slaa;ey ;REDELLCOUN~ ha~ny m~resW;~ s;a~esv~lJe
i~outman LINCOLN COUN~ li~c0~ton MECKLENBURG~COUN~ chad0~s c0r~elius davids0n hunte~v[lle matthews pi~evil~e
ROWAN COUN~ chinagr~8 cleveland granitequar~ landis r~ell ~t[sbuu spencer STAN~YCOU~ albemarle l~ust
