CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br /> CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br /> STAFF ANALYSIS-PETITION 89-09 <br /> <br /> The purpose of this rezoniog petition is to allow the <br />construction of the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College <br />Cabarrua County campus. The property is currently zoned for <br />commercial and industrial uses (C-4 and I-2) and the request <br />is for a change to Office and Institutional zoning (O <br /> Staff finds no reason to deny this petition. The <br />property owners have an agreement with the County <br />Commissioners to provide sewer and water service to the <br />site, the property has good access to both N.C. 73 and <br />Interstate 85, and the use should not be detrimental to <br />surrounding land owners. <br /> The Planning Staff recommends that this petition be <br />approved with the further recommendation that the Trustees <br />of the Community College be encouraged to construct, or have <br />the NCOOT construct, turn lanes on N.C. 73 and Trinity Ch. <br />Rd. to facilitate ingress and egress to the campus. <br /> <br /> <br />
