OF <br /> <br /> REFISED AND RESTATED JULY, 1989 <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, the undersisned Governmental units of the state of North <br />Carolina, tosether with the other county and municipal governmental units in <br />North Carolina or a state adJoinin~ North Carolina hereafter adopti~ <br />concurrent Resolutions identical hereto, reco~nize that there is a need for <br />such sovernmental units to consult'amon~ themselves to act in concert and to <br />Jointly exercise the ~cwer~ of local government with reference to regional <br />matters affecttn~ health, safety, welfare, education, transportation, <br />recreation, economic conditions, regional plannin~ or regional development; <br />now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, that pursuant to the ~eneralStatutes of North Carolina, Chapter <br />160A, Article 20, Parts i and 2, the followin~ Resolution is hereby adopted <br />for'the establishment of a regional council of governments and for the <br />exercise of any power, function, public enterprise, right, privilege o_r -. <br />in~untt~ of local $overnment by end through this regional council and irs <br />member governmental un~ts~ all to the extent and in the manner authorized or <br />permitted by Article 20 of Chapter 160A of the General Statutes of North <br />Carolina entitled ;Interiors1 Cooperation". <br /> <br /> Short Title - Bindin~ Effect: This Resolution shall be hereafter <br />referred to as the "Charter" of the Centralina Council of Governments; and <br />said Charter, to&ether with all amendments thereto, shall be bindin~ upon and <br />shall inure to the benefit of all governmental units who are now or hereafter <br />become' its members. <br /> <br /> ITEM II <br /> <br /> Name: The name of the re,ions1 council of governments hereby <br />established shall be the CENTRALINA COUNCIL OF GOVEPdTHEKfS, and shell be <br />hereinafter referred to herein as the "Council". <br /> <br /> ITE~III <br /> <br /> Hembershio: <br /> <br /> A. The Hembership of this Council of Governments shall consist of the <br />following Governments! units who are presently members of the Gouncil and such <br />additional units of local government admitted in accordance with the <br />provisions of this Charter: <br /> <br /> <br />
