Mi Canaday, Sheriff <br /> September 14, 1989 <br /> <br /> Mr. Hike Ruff in <br /> Cabarrus County Hanager <br /> Concord; N.C. <br /> <br /> Dear Mr. Ruffin~ <br /> <br /> It has been brought to my attention that July 1, 1989 Cabarrus Memorial <br /> Hospital assUmed full financial resp6nsibility for all five (5) of the <br /> Deputy Sheriffs ~l%at are assigned to provide security around the clock at <br /> the hospital. <br /> <br /> In the past they have reimbursed Cabar~us CouRty for all salary;a~d'lben~fit <br /> for the supervisor and three of the four officers that were assigned <br /> expenses <br /> there. No~ the county will be billing them for all four officers and the <br /> supervisors salary and benefits expense. <br /> <br /> I would like permission ~o hire an entry level Deputy Sheriff since the <br /> salary is already in the budget to pay that officers salary. The county <br /> ~ill actually realize a cost savings if the comparison is made between <br /> Nhat the veteran officer the county was paying for and the salary of the <br /> ne~ hire. <br /> <br /> As T stated in my previous bud§et requests we need additional personnel <br /> in many areas of the department. <br /> <br /> Your consideration in this matter will be greatly appreciated. <br /> <br /> Sincerely, <br /> <br /> Robert H.
