NORTH CAROLINA <br /> CONTRACT <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into as of the 1st day of Jniy, 1989, by and <br /> between CABARRUS COUNTY, a body politic and political subdivision of the State of <br /> North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as the "COUNTY", by and through 'its Board of <br /> Commissioners, and KEEP CABARRUS CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL, INC., a non- <br /> profit corporation of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: that- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, KCCBI is a non-profit corporation located in Cabarrus County, North <br /> Carolina, the purpose of which is, among other things, to plant, cultivate and/or clean <br /> up public property, to educate the general public regarding the benefits of a clean <br /> environment, and to institute other programs designed to reduce litter and other physical <br /> pollution of the environment of Cabarrus County for the benefit of all its citizens; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY is authorized to make contributions to KCCBI under the <br />provisions of G.S. 153A-247, 153A-274, Chapter 130 of the General Statutes, and <br />othenvise pursuant to its police power; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, COUNTY and KCCBI desire to enter into a contract whereby <br /> <br />KCCBI will init/ate and implement programs consistent with' its purposes hereinb6fore <br /> <br />set fo~'th; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, KCCBI desires to obtain the financial support of COUNTY for a <br /> <br />portion of its costs incurred in providing such services and, in the interest and welfare <br /> <br />of its citizens, COUNTY desires to provide financial support for a portion of the costs <br /> <br /> <br />
