The additional two appointments <br /> will be made by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners under the <br /> provisions of the General Statutes. These additional members will serve <br /> four year terms. <br /> <br /> You are h~reby asked to appoint two trustees to the Rowan-Cabarrus <br /> Community College Board. <br /> <br /> The following excerpt from the Rowan-cabarrus Community College Trustees <br /> Handbook is forwarded for your information: <br /> <br /> No one should enter into trusteeship lightly. It requires <br /> a genuine dedication of time, intelligence, and work. <br /> <br /> The board member of the lgSO's should be an individual <br /> with an extraordinary commitment: <br /> <br /> (1) to the open door philosophy of the public <br /> two-year college, which minimizes academic <br /> barriers, geographic barriers, and economic <br /> barriers to educational opportunity; <br /> <br /> (2) to the comprehensive educational mission which <br /> includes: occupational education, continuing <br /> education, general educatiOn, liberal arts <br /> education, adult basic education, industrial <br /> service education, and specialized manpower <br /> training programs; <br /> <br /> <br />
