. I

P. O. BOX

oFFic~ o~ THE M^VOe
February 10, 1987

Mr. James W. Lentz, Chairman
Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners
P..O. Box 707
Concord, N. C. 28025

Dear Mr. Lentz:

The final cost amounts for construction of the Rocky River
Wastewater Treatment Plant and related interceptor lines have
been compiled as of June 30, 1986 by our staff and an
independent audit firm. As a result, information regarding the
amount of the settlement due the City of Concord from Cabarrus
County was presented to Blair Bennett several months ago. The
amount due the City of Concord from Gabarrus County is
$432,212.05. There has bean no activity on either the plant or
the interceptor lines since that time except for receipt of a
final EPA Grant which was incorporated into the computation of
the receivable amount. All supporting documentation used in
reaahing the settlement amount is available for your staff's
examination by making arrangements with Cathy Combs, the Finance
Director for the City of Concord.

This has been a major project of long duration and we are all
glad to'see its completion. We look forward to receiving
settlement from Cabarrus County and closing out the financial
records for this project.

Sincerely,

Bernie A. Edwards
Mayor

BAE/Jh
