Cook, Jr., Social Services Dlrecto~,~ ~'? <br /> <br /> In November 1987 we requested that the Department of Social Services receive <br /> permission from the County Commissioners to apply for a state grant of $38,000 for an <br /> Independent Living Project for foster children. As the attached letter from Mr. <br /> McGinnis indicates, the co~anissioners approved our applying for and accepting the <br /> grant. Since that time we have applied and fortunately been selected as one of the <br /> few.departments of social services in the state to be awarded grant funds. <br /> <br /> Please add the enclosed budget amendment to the agenda for the February 1, 1988 <br /> county commissioners meeting. We plan to hire a part-time temporary social worker <br /> with a portion of the grant money. ~ <br /> <br /> Thank you for your assistance with this agenda item. <br /> <br /> Enclosures <br /> <br /> <br />
