CABARRUS COUNTY
Post Office Box 707
CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025

January 26, 1988

To: Mr. Charles McGinnis

From: Walter Odell ~o

Subject: Proposed expansion of District Water System

Attached is a letter from Mr. Allen Craven requesting
the County's participation in the extension of a water
main along Pitts School Road.

The extension as required under current policy would
involve the construction of approximately 5200 linear
feet of 8 inch water main along Pitts School Road
begining at the intersection of Roberta Mill Road and
extending west toward U. S. Highway 29.

The primary purpose of the extension would be to serve
Morris Glen Subdivision, a residential development
approved by the Planning-Board in November of 1987 for
a total of 191 lots. Service could also be made available
to any property fronting along that section of Pitts
School Road.

Tile project by its location would come under the juris-~
diction of the Water and Sewer District and under
Section III Item B of the current policy would qualify
for cost sharing.

Preliminary cost estimates indicate the District's
contribution to the project to be in the $20,000 range.

Based on the anticipated increased revenue from 191 new
customers over a relatively short time period I recomend
that the Commissioners authorize offering to Mr. Craven
the standard cost sharing agreement for extension of
water mains within the Water & Sewer District.
