Odell, Walter, Th~mk you for the opportunity to sumi~ an estimate on the demolition of the recently purchased ~orris Buildings. I would like to do this in a two part project. Starti~ with the building faci~ Barbrick S~reet, to help relieve the county parking problem due to the new construction at the jail in approximately two weeke I could have this section ready for parking. The second phase, the building on South Union ~.;ill approximately 2 1/2 weeks. ~ring this time it will be necessary to close off a section of Union Street in order to demolish the fronts of these buildings. ~9~is could be done on Saturd~ and S~d~ to eliminate traffic o~d pedes~vi~ traffic in ~his area. Based on our conversation Friday, I don't forsee an~ problems with removing ~he buil(~ng on Union Street usin~ crane and wreckin~ ball. If for some reason we would be required to remove %his potion with air h~ners this would have to be included. As you remember the old Cl'~g building , tile front Facing Church Street and the walls beside Berry's Gulf had io be removed this way prevenl a~ d~r~e to %he Gull' station or the traffic lights. This would be the most expensive meihod of demoligion. I have prepared this estimate usi~ daily equipmen~ rental r%tes~ labor~ insarance and profit. I would like to have a l~i lead ~.~e~ in ibis est%male to help cover a~ unforseen problems such as foolings and walls undergrouhd whihh m~ need to be removed. Another thou{%ht, I had would be to remove these buildings the sm, e w~ we did at %he Old Locke ~.[ill.
