Box <br /> Concord, North Carolina 28025 <br /> <br /> Dear Mr. NcOinnis: <br /> <br /> Cabarrus County is invited to make application this year for a <br /> State [latching Grant under the provisions of the North Carolina Land <br /> Records Hanagement Program (LRMP). We anticipate having 9525,000 <br /> for the Coming FY 1988-89 and will award grants on a 50/50 matching <br /> basis to those counties whose applications qualify according to <br /> North Carolina G.$. 102-15, 16, and 17. ^ copy of the grant <br /> application form is attached. <br /> <br /> If your county has not applied for a LRMP grant in the past, <br /> Chapter 8 of "Keys to the Hodernfzation of County Land Records" can <br /> serve as a guideline in the preparation of your application. This <br /> document is available upon request. ~¢o other documents concerning <br /> land records activities are also available on request: "Technical <br /> 8pacifications for Base and Cadastral Maps" and "Uses of Large Scale <br /> }laps." For those counties who have previously submitted <br /> applications for grant funds, we request that any changes to the <br /> long range plan and the project description of what is to be <br /> accomplished during FY 88-89 be submitted with the application form. <br /> <br /> According to lsw, we can award grants only for the development <br /> of (1) base maps, (2) cadastral or "property" maps, (3) a system of <br /> parcel identifier numbers, and/or (4) an automated system for laud <br /> records. Because of the limited funds available, we will not be <br /> able to approve grants for central computers. We will consider, <br /> however, grants for such auxiliary equipment as digitizers, plot- <br /> ters, reader/printers, etc. under the automation category. <br /> <br /> RO.
