9. Cul-de-sac length should be limited to · maximum of <br /> one thousand (1000) feet unless unusual topography or <br /> land configuration requires otherwise. <br /> <br />I0. Distance between street intersections shall not be <br />longer than 1600 feet except In subdivisions with <br />average lot size of over one acre in which case street <br />intersections shall not be spaced more than 2000 feet <br />apart. The Planning Board may allow longer distances <br />where · longer distance will reduce the number of <br />railroad grade crossings, major stream crossings, or <br />where longer distances will result In less traffic <br />through residential subdivisions from adjoining business <br />or industrial areas. <br /> <br />11. Where a subdivision or planned development entrance <br />road is projected to accommodate over 900 vehicles per <br />day then a second entrance may be required where <br />feasible end such access is desirable to facilitate <br />neighborhood planning. As an alternative where a second <br />entrance is not feasible a single median entrance <br />meeting North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />standards may ba required. Generally left-turn <br />lanes will only be considered as a requirement in <br />developments with over 500 units or lots. <br /> <br />14-. Where a subdivision is proposed adjacent to a <br />thoroughfare other than a limited access highway which <br />has an inadequate right-of-way according to the Cabarrus <br />County Thoroughfare Plan, the Planning Board, may <br />require that the property owner dedicate such <br />right-of-way along his property as is necessary to bring <br />the right-of-way up to Thoroughfare Plan standards, for <br />that portion of the thoroughfare. <br /> <br />15.
