It shall be the dut~ of the officers of the Bureau of <br />Fire Prevention t*o enforce &Il laws and ordinances of Cab&rrus <br />County, covering the following: <br /> <br /> 1, The prevention of fires; <br /> <br /> 2. The storage, sale and use of combustible flammable or <br /> explosive materials; <br /> <br /> 3. The installation and maintenance of automatic and other <br /> fire alarm systems, and fire extinguishing equipment. <br /> <br /> 4. The maintenance and regulation of fire escapes; <br /> <br /> 5. The means and adequacy of exit in case of fire, from <br /> factories, schools, hotels, lodging houses, asylums~ <br /> hospitals, churches, halls, theaters, amphitheaters, and <br /> all other places in which numbers of persons work, live, <br /> or congregate, from time to time, for any purpose; <br /> <br /> 6. The investigation of the cause, origin, and <br /> circumstances of fires; <br /> <br /> 7. The maintenance of fire cause and loss records. <br /> <br />They shall have such other powers and perform such other <br />duties as are set forth in other sections of :this ordinance, and <br />ks may be--conferr~d~-d-qmposed-from--time to -time by law. <br /> <br />Sect'i'o~'-5~--'T~e Fir'e Marsh~i--sha-I J prepare*-i~s-tr*uot*ions--.for----the - <br />required *by .thi~. or'din~ncel --~ <br /> <br />Section 6_ The Fire Marshal and/or the senior fire officer at a <br />fire emergency shall investigate the cause, origin, and circum- <br />stances of every fire occurring in Cabarrus County and, so far as <br />possible, shall determine whether the fire is the result of <br />carelessness or design. <br /> As prescribed by The Cabarrus County Fire Protection Ordi- <br />nance the fire investigation shall be initiated by the senior <br />fire officer and the Fire Marshal should be notified if evidence <br />tends to show the fire to be incendiary or if persons are injured <br />or killed. The Fire M~rsh&l may be called to investigate the fire <br />if the senior officer ~s unable to determine the fire cause. <br /> <br />Section 7. Before permits may be issued as required by this <br />Code, the Fire Marshal or the Fire Marshal's assistants shall <br /> <br /> <br />
