A Csbarrus County focal point for Aging Services could: <br /> <br /> I. Provide a central base for satellitine service delivery to the four <br /> quadrants of the county . <br /> <br /> 2. House current Office of AginR services in a more identifiable <br /> facility for older adult services such aa: Nutrition, Respite Care <br /> Silver Pages , Senior Tarheel Card, Weatherization, Senior Games, <br /> Newsletter and information and Referral. <br /> <br /> 3. Recruit, train and maintain both old and young volunteers for <br /> service delivery expansion, saving the county additional operating <br /> expense. <br /> <br /> Provide a place to meet and retain information for Cabarrus County <br /> Aging Groups including Cabarrus County Council on Aging, County <br /> Commissioner's Senior Citizens Advisory Council, Cabarrus Aging <br /> Network and other groups iDterested in service delivery for older <br /> adults. <br /> <br />5. Provide space for activities to enhance the lifestyle and promote <br /> wellness of older adults so as to help prevent unnecessary <br /> institutionalization. <br /> <br />6. Provide access to and delivery of needed support both formal and <br /> informal. <br /> <br />7. Serve as a vital component of the continuum of community based care <br /> as established in concert with the Older American's Act. <br /> <br />8. Establish a realistic focal point for the delivery of services to <br /> be implemented. <br /> <br />9. Alleviate barriers to service delivery by providing adequate <br /> handicapped accessibility and appropriate space for current <br /> <br /> 10. Provide space needed for expansion of services vith available <br /> federal, state and private foundations. <br /> <br /> <br />
