CABARRUS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
920 CHURCH STREET. N.
CONCORD. NORTH CAROLINA 28025-~83

ROBERT B. CONROY. JR. TELEPHONE (704) 78B-5800

May 20, 1987

Chairman

P. O. Box 664
Concord, North Carolina 28026-0664

Dear Mr. Lentz:

Cabarrus Memorial Hospital has received a Certificate of Need for

-- - ~structed~-n~ operational by mid-1988. Due to the increased demand
in our Ambulatory Services Unit we intend to build new space for
Ambulatory Services ~n order to better accommodate this increasing

two-floor addition to the hospital to accommodate both the cancer
treatment center and the Ambulatory Services Unit. To this end, it is
necessary for the hospital to amend our initial Certificate of Need to
reflect this change. Obviously the required square footage and
expenditures exceed those initially stated in our original proposal.
The proposed operational dace would be extended to the first quarter
of 1989.

relocatxon of the Ambulatory Services Unit to this new addition. We
believe this will not only better accommodate our patients, but is the
most economically feasible way to address both these issues.

Your prompt attention would be most appreciated and if you have any
Sincerely,

Robert B. Co, roy, Jr.
Vice President

P~Cjr:ai
