, { <br /> <br /> REGION F AGING ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> BYLAWS <br /> ARTICLE I <br /> Name <br /> <br /> Section L1 Name. The Committee shall be known as the Region F Aging Advisory <br /> Committee, hereinafter referred to as the Advisory Committee. <br /> <br /> Section ]..2 Area. The geo§raphieal area served by the Advisory Committee shall <br /> eoineide with the boundaries of State Planning Region F. consisting of the eight <br /> counties of Cabarrns, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly and Union. <br /> <br /> Section 1.3 Fiscal Year. The fiscal year of the Advisory Committee shall be from <br /> July 1 through June 30. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE B <br /> <br /> Purposes and Responsibilities <br /> <br />Section 2.1 Purposes and Responsibilities. The purposes and responsibilities of the <br />Advisory Committee shall be: <br /> <br /> a. To advise the Area Agency on Aging staff and the Board of the Centralina <br /> Council of Governments on developing and administering the Region F Area <br /> Plan by assisting with the assessment of the 'needs of older persons and <br /> making recommendations on the allocation of resources among subcontractors <br /> in Region F. <br /> <br /> b. To advise the Area Agency on Aging staff on conducting public hearings. <br /> <br /> e. To advise the Area Agency on Aging staff on the interests of older persons <br /> by keeping informed on issues impacting the aging population. <br /> <br /> d. To advise the Area Agency on Aging staff on its review of and comments <br /> on all community policies, programs and actions ~vhich affect older persons. <br /> <br /> e. To act as advocates in loeal communities and in the region to influence the <br /> use of resources for programs and services for older adults. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE UI <br /> <br /> Membership <br /> <br />Section 3.1 Number. The number of members constituting the Advisory Committee <br />shall be 26 persons. <br /> <br />Section 3.2 Terms. Members shall serve two-year terms ending June 30th. Terms will <br />be staggered so that at least one-third of the membership will be continuing terms at <br />the beginning of each year. Members may serve for three consecutive two-year terms <br />or a total of six years. After a one year lapse in membership, said member is eligible <br />for reappointment, <br /> <br /> <br />
