Little <br /> Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department <br /> <br /> Subject: Tractor Bids <br /> <br /> This letter is in reference to the General Purpose Tractor Bid for <br /> th~ Property Maintenance Department. The tractor was formally advertised <br /> in the Concord Tribune newspaper on September 18, 1987. Our Department <br /> mailed out ten bid packages to local tractor vendors. Six bids were received <br /> for the bid opening on October 12, 1987. Tbe following is a summary of <br /> tb~se bids: <br /> <br /> C~ompany Nem~ Bid Bond Base Bid <br /> <br /> i. Elm-Cliffs Enterprises Yes $12,049.00 <br /> 6. Southland Farm S~rvice Yes $ 9~750.50 <br /> <br /> The objective of th~ bid is to secure a general purpose tractor to <br /> perform a variety of medium to heavy tasks, such as, disking, mowing, <br /> hauling, bush-bogging, and grading. <br /> <br /> The Iow bidder was Southland Farm Service of China Grove in the amount <br /> of $9,750.50. In review of this tractor, our staff statud that the <br /> Soutbland's White brand tractor is a good light to mediunl tractor; however, <br /> it bas certain limitations due to its size and physcial structure. Tile <br /> staff is also concerned with its durabiligy and design to enabl~ it to <br /> serve as a primary work tractor for the Property Maintenance Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
