Resolution Passed By <br /> The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> Concord, North Carolina <br /> <br /> The following resolution was offered by Commissioner <br /> and seconded by Commissioner on the day of__ , 1987. <br /> <br /> THAT WHEREAS, the Concord-Kannapolis-Landis-China Grove Tlloroughfare Map <br /> dated September 17, 1980, was mutually adopted by Cabarrus County on November 10, <br /> 1980, and by the North Carolina Department of Transportation on March 31, 1981; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Thoroughfare Planning Unit of NCDOT did prepare a Thoroughfare <br /> Plan for the urbanized area of Cabarrus County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, to better serve the existing and anticipated transportation and land <br /> use development needs of the coll~unity, it has become desirable to revise the <br /> Thoroughfare Plan in the Cabarrus County and Concord area. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS <br /> COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: <br /> <br /> That the Cabarrus County Board of Conunissioners adopt the following revisions <br />to the Cabarrus County/Concord portion of the Concord-Kannapolis-Landis~Chioa Grove <br />Urban Area Thoroughfare Plan, subject to the mutual adoption by tile North Carolina <br />Oepartment of Transportation: <br /> <br /> 1. That the proposed loop from Kerr Street Extension to Corban Street be <br /> deleted from the plan. <br /> <br />2. That Spring Street be extended from Young Street to Union Street on a new <br /> alignment and be added as a major thoroughfare. <br /> <br />3. That the portion of Main Street extension from Maple Avenue (SR 1798) to <br /> Winecoff Avenue (SR 1402) be deleted from the plan. <br /> <br />4. That Main Street (US 29A) be extended from Maple Avenue (SR 1798) on new <br /> location to Central Avenue (SR 1395) and there continuing in a southerly <br /> direction to Winecoff Avenue (SR 1q02); said extension to be added to the <br /> plan as a major thoroughfare. <br /> <br />5. That the proposed extension of Country Club Road West be further extended <br /> to Central Drive (SR 1395) as a major thoroughfare. <br /> <br />6. That the proposed Country Club Road East to Penninger Road counection be <br /> deleted from the plan. <br /> <br />7, That the proposed Country Club Road to Earnhardt Road Extension be added <br /> to the plan as a major thoroughfare. <br /> <br />B. That the Earnhardt Road Extension south to Penninger Road, and Earnhardt <br /> Road Extension north to Concord Lake Road north be added to the plau as a <br /> nlajor thoroughfare. <br /> <br />9. That the section of Westside Bypass from Universal Street (SR 1609) to <br /> US 29 South be deleted from the Kanlacon Thoroughfare Plan. <br /> <br /> 10. That the section of Westside Bypass from Universal Street (SR 1625) be <br /> extended in a south western direction and crossing NC 73 approximately <br /> 1.5 miles west of tile NC 73/1-85 Interchange; thence continuing in a <br /> southernly direction in tile vicinity of Crisco Road (SR ld30) and <br /> interchanging with I-BS; and continuing south in the vicinity of Crisco <br /> Road (SR 1430)~ then With a revised alignment to US 29 south to tile present <br /> Westside Bypass thoroughfare alignmeut. <br /> <br /> <br />
