Box 2~38 <br /> ~ T~n.~:x~dof~xl Atlanta, Georgia 30320 <br /> Federal Avlaflo.n <br /> A~mlnlstraflon <br /> <br /> AIRSPACE DETERMINATION <br /> PROPOSED PUBLIC USE AIRPORT <br /> Cabarrus County Airport <br /> Concord, North Carolina <br /> 87-ATL-lO1-NRA <br /> <br /> TO ALL CONCERNED: <br /> <br /> On September ~, 1987 the Federal AViation Administration issued a circular <br /> outlining the details of a proposal to establish a public use airport near <br /> Concord,' North Carolina at latituHe 35°23'01"N., longitude 80°42~40"W. <br /> <br /> In response to the circular, objections were received because of the proposed <br /> airport's location in relation to the Charlotte/Douglas International Airport <br /> and the compatibility/efficiency of the two airports if IFR operations are <br /> established at the proposed Cabarrus County Airport. <br /> <br />Comments were received expressing concern that the proposed Cabarrus County <br />Airport would impact future expansion of the Rowan County Airport. <br /> <br />In accordance with Part 157 of the Federal Aviation-Regulations, it has been <br />determined that the proposed airport will not adversely, a~feet the safe and <br />efficient use of the navigable airspace by aircraft provided: <br /> <br /> a. AIl operations are conducted in VFRweather conditions. <br /> <br />This determination in no way preempts or waives any ordinance, laws, or regula- <br />tions of any other governmental body or agency. <br /> <br />This determination should not be construed to mean FAA approval of the physical <br />development involved in the proposal. It is only a determination with respect <br />te the safe and efficient use of airspace by aircraft. In making this determina- <br />tion, the FAA has considered matters such as the effect the proposal would have <br />on existing or contemplated traffic patterns of neighboring airports, the effects <br />it would have on the existing airspace structure and projected programs of the <br />FAA, and the effect ~hat the existing or proposed man-made objects on file with <br />the FAA and natural objects within the affected area would have on the airport <br />proposal. <br /> <br />Unless extended, revised, or terminated, this determination expires November 12, <br />1989 if the landing area is not in operation by that time.
