Paragraph (h)

Changing "have the authority to coordinate" to "assist the
officer in charge in coordinating":

I see no problem with this change.

Paragraph (])

On removing this paragraph:

This paragraph provides a vehicle to establish a first
respondera program in the county by the most feasible means, the
fire departments.
Any first responders program would have to be coordinated
with the county's Emergency Medical Services which is heeded by
the Director of Emergency Services.
As we understand it, some discussion was aimed at working
under EMS Region F guidelines or under State guidelines. Such
guidelines are not in existence. Any first responder programs
fall under local government control.

Paragraph

Substitute "may" for "must":

I see no problem, as a matter of fact I prefer we
discontinue the use of sirens as long as the department has
pagers for most of their members.

Section 6 (f)

Change "county fire ordinance" to "State Protection
guidelines":

This refers to the requirements of sections 3 and 4. This
wording should reflect the wording of these sections.

If you have questions or of further discussion is required o
this issue please let me know.

Sincerely,

''James L. Pharr
Fire Marshal
