CABARRUS COUNTY '..
· ~ Post Office Box ?07 .'."-_'- '
: :: : CONCORD. NORTH CAROLINA 280ffii i?is~:-~ .... -
:~,r - ":!;'t

TO: Board of Commissioners

}'ROM: .¥~Charles D. Mccinnis

DATE: March 13, 1985
RE: Sale of Surplus Real Estate

In 1980 the Board of Commissioners authorized the sale and dis-
position of two tracts of land on McCachern Boulevard and authorized the
County Attorney to proceed with the sale. No sale was consummated as a
result of that action, and I would like to recommend that these two
tracts of land be offered for sale again after the appropriate declaration
that this real estate is surplus to the needs of the County and authorization
to proceed with the sale.

In 1983 it was recommended to the County Commissioners that appro::i-
mutely 13 acres on the north side of Cabarrus Avenue parallel to Southern
Railway be authorized for sale in accordance with the General Statutes
law regarding a declaration of surplus property and an authorization to
proceed with the sale. The Board of Commissioners at that time did not
authorize this to be sold. However, I feel that this property is still
surplus to the needs of Cabarrus County and would best be offered for
sale.
