Box 707 <br />Concord, XC 28025 <br /> <br />Dear flr. flcGinnis: <br /> <br />Regarding my phone conversation of Harch 27, 1985, with Susie Small, I am enclosing the letter <br />[ sent to the Hayor~s office and the Governor's office and proclamation information so that <br />you will be aware of what the 600 Festival is and does. t~e are very excited about this years~ <br />600 Festival events end are anticipating in excess of 500,000 people attending all of our events <br />throughout the month of Ha)'. I am also enclosing our ~ist of Festival events to help you better <br />acquaint yourself with our functions. <br /> <br />We are requesting several things. First of all, we would like Cabarrus County to pr~clain <br />the month of blay as "600 Festival Association flonth" and to present that proclamation at our <br />Fastrac Breakfast on Hay 1, 1985. ~e are hopin~ that James Lentz, the chairman of the County <br />Co~auission, would attend that breakfas-'~--~d present that procl~mat~on as ~ell ss giving a short <br />speach, 5 min~ute~s or so, on the effect the 600 Festival has on Csbarrus County. <br /> <br />We are also requesting that fir. Len[z and other members of the County Commission ride in our <br />Goody's Pole Day Parade__~_q~L~ghts on rho~enin~ of Hay 22, 1985~ in a convertible or car of <br />'thexr ~oice. 2~ei~-families are, of course, i~vited t~ride wit~ them and ~hey .ill ail be <br />invited to our Pr~Parade VIP Party at the Radisson Plaza Charlotte. Additional informtion <br />as to the specifics will be forrhcoming. <br /> <br />I do hope Cabarrus County will ~an[ to become involved ~ith ~he 600 Festival this year and <br />look forward to a mutually gratifying relationship ~ith all of you.
